How it works

Three steps to your first hunt

Create a lobby

Pick the play zone on the map, the game length and how often hiders get pinged. Friends join with the lobby code.

Hide

Hiders get a head start to disappear somewhere in the zone. Seekers wait – then the hunt begins.

Hunt

Seekers see where the hiders are only at timed pings. The zone shrinks, the pressure rises – get close and catch them.

Built for real streets

Live GPS map

Everyone plays on a real map of your surroundings. Seekers also see their teammates.

Timed pings

Hiders are not visible all the time. Seekers only get their location at set intervals.

Shrinking zone

The play area gets smaller in steps. Step outside and your live position is revealed.

Join with a code

One person creates the game, everyone else types the code – and you're all in the same lobby.

Small group or big crowd

2 to 10 players with up to 3 seekers. Roles are random or picked by the host.

Classic

Last one standing

Caught hiders are out. Seekers win if they catch everyone – hiders win if anyone is still free when the time runs out.

Zombie · Premium

Join the hunt

Whoever gets caught becomes a seeker. The hunting pack grows with every catch.

Abilities · Premium

One secret trick

Every player gets one random one-time ability – hiders can fake or skip a ping or reveal the seekers, seekers can force a ping or reveal hiders nearby.

Good questions

Is Hunting Zone free?

Yes. Download and play for free. Premium is optional. For the person who creates the game it unlocks the Zombie and Abilities modes and bigger, longer games – everyone who joins plays along for free. Without Premium you see an ad after a round.

How many players do we need?

From 2 to 10 players, with 1 to 3 seekers. Free games allow up to 6 players and 2 seekers – plenty for a spontaneous round.

What do we need to play?

Every player needs the app, GPS and mobile internet. Then pick an area you know – a park, your neighbourhood or a campus works great.

Is my location shared all the time?

No. Your location is only used while you are in a game, and seekers see hiders only at the pings. Details are in our privacy policy.

Is there an Android version?

Hunting Zone for Android is on its way to Google Play. Join our Discord to hear first when it launches.

Is it safe?

Only play where it is safe and watch out for traffic and obstacles – you are responsible for yourself. The app reminds the host of this before the first game.
